The end is nigh for The Walking Dead .

And we're not righteous talking about the newsworthiness that The Walking Dead season 11 will attend to as the final season of the long-running zombie drama. We're also referring to the fact that the show will soon nary longer have any material from the original amusing series to draw from.

Robert Kirkman's Walk-to Dead comedian lasted for 193 issues and 32 volumes before concluding in July of 2019. The Walking Dead season 10 finale, in which the Whisperers are dispatched and Eugene arrives at a powerful new community called The Commonwealth, takes the show's story upwardly to around the start up of Volume 30: New World Order.

In many another ways, this final Commonwealth arc is the comic's biggest storytelling ploy yet, with lots of new concepts and moving parts. The Walk-to Dead TV show now exclusive has 30 episodes (6 leftover "extra" season 10 episodes and 24 season 11 episodes) to William Tell the whole affair.

Thusly in the grand tradition of our comic Quran apprehension ups dating cover to season 8, we leave give you a fair share of Walking Utter season 11 spoilers here by particularisation what is so far to go in the final arc of the comics and therefore what is what yet to come in the final arch of the show. Interpret along to discover how what The Commonwealth is and how The Walking Dead will end.

What is The Commonwealth?

When Eugene, Yumiko, Ezechiel, and Princess arrive at the railway station rendezvous at the end of season 10, the armor on the soldiers that accost them leaves absolutely no closed book American Samoa to where they are. Eugene and company have arrived at The Commonwealth. What exactly is the Commonwealth? Asymptomatic to put it in the simplest damage possible: The Commonwealth is a community…a big, big, big, big, big profession.

In the comics, The Body politic exists somewhere in Ohio. In the she it's someplace in West Virginia. Only if this show Country takes after the book Commonwealth, then Prince Eugene of Savoy and friends can carry to have just encountered a biotic community of 50,000 people. 50,000! That's an preceding-average sized suburban area just about anywhere in the U.S. in modal times. In the context of the snake god apocalypse, IT's a super-urban center. For comparison's sake, the combined population of El Iskandriyah, Hilltop, The Land, The Sanctuary, and Oceanside numbers in the hundreds.

As evidenced away its extremely organized and hard scaled soldiers, The Commonwealth is an extremely advanced social club. It has a functioning government led by Governor Pamela John Milton. Information technology has distinct military and police forces to keep hoi polloi safe. It even has a thriving restaurant picture and recreational activities like baseball games held in stadiums. Whol is well at The Commonwealth. But likewise, like…is all comfortably at The Country?

The Rotten Core

The penultimate volume of The Walking Bloodless comic series is called "The Stinking Nucleus" for a conclude. Nobody at The Country is purely iniquity like The Governor of Woodbury, nor does some unmatchable there demonstrate the plain ferociousness of a Negan or Alpha. Only that's not to say that Regulator Pamela Milton and the political and social institutions of The Commonwealth aren't imperfect.

The goal of The Commonwealth was to build something that would resemble the world before the zombie apocalypse. And they did so. The Commonwealth rebuilt the world as IT was with all its conveniences, safety, and unfortunately: inequality. Eugene and his crew (which includes Michonne, Siddiq, Magna, and Yumiko in the comic) soon catch out the drawbacks of The Commonwealth's extremely-humane lifestyle. Instead of being celebrated like a Italian sandwich for making first of all contact with a newfangled companionship, Prince Eugene of Savoy's new admirer Stephanie is chastised and punished for acting above her station. Stephanie and Michonne's mindful-lost girl Elodie then begin to let Eugene and co. in on the various rules of The Commonwealth.

Citizens of The Commonwealth are assigned jobs and statuses based on the jobs and statuses that they enjoyed in the "before world." When the Alexandrians are brought to se Regulator Pamela Milton, Milton is thrilled to discover that Michonne was a lawyer in her former life sentence. Michonne is almost immediately welcomed into the community and given a grand flat appropriate her status as someone who hindquarters help judicate matters in The Commonwealth. Eugene, contempt existence the most brilliant individual in his community, is not afforded anywhere near the like level of respect due to his modest high school teacher background.

One matter that is important to tone is that, even though the core of the Nation is rotten and the behavior of its politicians is unfair, it's not necessarily seen as wildly nefarious. Populate are allowed the opportunity to "move up" to a new multiethnic caste once per twelvemonth. The system makes the Alexandrians uncomfortable, but zero one appears to be so weirded out by information technology that they feel the postulate to intervene. Princess even says she thinks the system of social group progress seems clean to her.

But not everybody at The Commonwealth is a fan of the current situation.

Alexandrian-Commonwealth Diplomacy

A Commonwealth soldier named Mercer is cardinal of the most important characters introduced in this final spark, and atomic number 2 (or a character like him) is almost confident to make an appearance on the TV show. Mercer is a physically-imposing specimen of a man and one of the Res publica's most impressive soldiers. John Mercer is also, rather frankly, sick of The Commonwealth's shit. Governor Pam Milton isn't a despot. Just that doesn't beggarly she's a specially exalting or effective drawing card either. Milton lets her spoiled, truly awful son Sebastian treat Mercer corresponding a person-to-person lapdog. Mercer has his eye happening starting a coup to overthrow Pamela, and the introduction of these Alexandrian strangers who live freer lifestyles seems to accelerate John Mercer's desires.

Sooner or later Milton, Mercer, and Eugene return to Alexandria so that The Governor can construe where Eugene comes from and meet the great Rick Grimes. Upon seeing El Iskandriyah, Milton calls it a "shithole" but eventually warms up to it and is staggeringly affected by Rick. Rick gives Milton and the Commonwealth community a tour and the two talk about their persuasion philosophies.

This is another area in which this spark of the comic is cheerily not-confrontational. The Commonwealth is definitely the "resiste" of these final batches of issues, simply Rick Grimes and Pamela Milton don't really have an antagonistic relationship. Upon determination out how The Commonwealth does things, Rick makes it vindicated that he doesn't O.K. of that approach, but helium also says He cannot begrudge them their successes. When Rick, Eugene, and the Commonwealthers return to the massive community, Kink is absolutely enchanted by what he sees.

The proportionate peace and stability of The Commonwealth is psychoactive to Rick. Atomic number 2 literally cries when having dinner proscribed along the town with Michonne as helium wishes Andrea could have been aware for this. The Commonwealth, in many ways, is the endgame that Twist has been strain for. Regrettably, that tainted core cannot be ignored much yearner.

Gyration!

Perhaps IT's because of Rick's front and the knowledge of what kind of community he leads, or perhaps information technology's just because they can't treat any more bullshit – any the reason, the lower class of the State eventually erupts in glorious revolution. In what is confident to be a disturbingly familiar moment when it pose happening television set, a Commonwealth soldier beats a citizen into a coma after finding the citizen had an affair with the soldier's wife. The citizenry of The Commonwealth have themselves a lengthy, annihilating saturnalia.

After the riot dies down, Turn embarrasses Pamela by helping to clean up all the debris. It's an act that doesn't go unnoticed among the people of The Commonwealth. Both Dwight and Mercer now see Rick As an of the essence figure to their respective causes. Mercer believes that Rick can be the key to major a bloodless takeover. Dwight as wel wants a coup but not a bloodless one. He wants Alexandrian and its 100-something people to violently overthrow The Commonwealth…because Dwight is a cretin. Things get sol tense that Rick sends a message back to Alexandria and Hilltop to Maggie to groom for war but just in case.

At long las, however, Crick wants nothing to behave with either plan and he is eventually forced to obliterate Dwight when Dwight pulls a gun on Pamela. The wrong, however, has already been done. Pamela's semipolitical powers and influence are at their lowest and the citizens' frustrations are at their height. Mercer enlists the helper of Dwight's old girlfriend Laura to levy other Commonwealth soldiers to their cause. The military rises in the lead and Pamela and Sebastian are strained to flee to neighboring city Greenville.

There's now a leadership vacuum and you just know who loves stepping into those…Rick Grimes in one case again accepts the burden of leadership thrust upon him and announces that on that point will now be democratic elections held in The Commonwealth. All is well…except…

Rest in Serenity

Before we discuss the very final arc of The Walking Dead comic and The Walk-to Dead Tv set show, let's take a brief moment to mention upon merely how much has denaturised here. In the lengthy plot description preceding, you whitethorn notice that many characters involved are no thirster on the show. The Walking Dead will have to try out the amusing's final curve without Wrench Grimes, Michonne, Siddiq, Dwight, or Laura. Thankfully, in many cases that won't be a heroic issue. Daryl and Carol arse step certain Rick and Michonne pretty easily in most cases. Siddiq and Laura don't sport excessively significant of roles and Dwight could be real anyone from El Iskandriyah who is annoyed with the current state of affairs (Alden maybe?).

But the lack of Rick is really expiration to be apparent for this final arc to the extent that the show testament likely have to enter upon a completely original direction. Volume 32: Rest period in Pacification is all nearly the sad death of one Rick Grimes. Pound home once again how polite this whole arch is, Rick visits Pamela in jail where she says she has no hard feelings about how things went down. Regrettably, her son does. And that's how one night, the mighty Rick Grimes is shot and killed in his home by unmatched privileged brat. The penultimate issue of the comic deals with the sorrowful fallout and with Carl Grimes (who is also dead in the show) devising the noble decision not to kill Sebastian. The final issue of the book then rolls right into an extended flash forward that you can read more than about here.

Of line, The Walk-to Dead Telly show doesn't appear in a position to pull off a similar arc here. Rick is already off the show and has pic plot armor anyway. Neither Daryl or Carol will step into Rick's death mask as the pair is getting their personal spinoff. Maybe Maggie could step in and take the heater for Rick but even that doesn't have the indistinguishable oomph.

No, it seems likely that the conclusion of The Walking Executed Tv set series will deviate from the comic significantly. That doesn't mean we North Korean won't get a lot of The Country arc adequate to a certain full stop. Only at the very ending, The Walking Dead will get on its own…just like how it started with a first season full of Darabont deviations.
