5 Random Acts of Beauty to Soothe the Savage Beast - Makeup and Beauty Blog
For the near part, I think beingness a woman ROCKS, merely the occasional mood swings = not my favorite part of being a girl.
Today I was fine until five, at which time a scrap of crankiness crept in (caused by a combination of the weather and my efforts to avoid refined sugar). But instead of unleashing my inner Brat-A-SAUR, I nipped information technology in the bud with beauty. 🙂
I started with these NARS blushes, which I've had since Christmas but never really played with until now.
NARS Cream Blush in Cactus Flower, $26
Powder Blush in Sin, $26
From there I moved on to…
Eyeko Fat Balm in Strawberry, Minty and Raspberry, $7.50 each
Tarte Natural Lip Stains in Animalism (left) and Charmed (right), $24 each
A wee sample of Miss Dior Cherie Eau de Toilette, $62 for a full-sized 1.7 oz canteen
Shu Uemura Egerie Radiant Stick Highlight (left) and Blush (right), $40 each
Commencement row: Eyeko Fatty Balm in Strawberry, Minty and Raspberry. Second row: Tarte Natural Lip Creme Pencil in Lust and Charmed. Third row: Shu Uemura Egerie Blush and Highlight. Quaternary row: NARS Cream Chroma in Cactus Flower and NARS Powder Chroma in Sin
It's amazing how a little scrap of makeup soothes the brutal beast. 🙂 I felt much better by the stop of my mini-swatch/movie fest. I gauge the grumpiness worked its mode out of my pores similar garlic, ha ha.
This week's reading
Yesterday afternoon El Hub and I had lunch with some friends and hung out with Jules. Jules is half Indian, one-half Smoothen, and 100% heartbreaker! She was a petty camera shy, though, so you can't run into her awesome gray-blue eyes.
After lunch I stopped by Barnes & Noble to discover something to read. Information technology actually came down to a choice betwixt Lauren Conrad's L.A. Candy (don't detest; it'southward a NY Times bestseller!) and Sara Gruen's H2o for Elephants. I went with my amend judgement this fourth dimension (LOL!) and picked the latter.
I'chiliad only two chapters in merely enjoying it so far. The writing'south snappy. Hopefully the ending doesn't allow me down like the last book I read (which I'm Even so quite bitter most).
What are you reading these days? Anything good?
Your friendly neighborhood beauty aficionado,
Karen
